Updated: Sep 6, 2023

You know a paraplanner can help you create financial plans, take notes in client meetings, and manage your CRM, but there are many other tasks a paraplanner can do to help you.

Here are some ways you may not have thought of where a paraplanner can relieve your time:

1. Helping with surge meeting prep, from ensuring the advisor has all the necessary information for the client meetings to having the template pre-filled to review with the client. After the meeting, the paraplanner can update the CRM or planning software with the meeting notes.

2. Custodial paperwork is not just about submitting the paperwork but ensuring that accounts are opened and following up with the client if there are any unsigned documents. Also, making sure all the transfers that were to happen have been completed.

3. Helping the firm find new technology to support its processes, which can range from CRM to forms. The paraplanner can research different programs and check out product demos see if it fits the parameters the firm is looking for. The paraplanner can send a summary of each product reviewed with the pros and cons and any recommendations they may have.

4. If you send out quarterly reports, the paraplanner can help gather the necessary information, assemble the files for every client, and send them out to clients.

5. Does your firm need to download monthly statements and trade confirmations monthly for compliance reasons? If there is no way to have them downloaded automatically and put into a folder, the paraplanner can do this for you.

6. Bonus – The paraplanner can help with financial analysis or help you create dashboards or other reports you may need to track in Excel or Google Sheets.

There are many more tasks that a paraplanner can do to support your firm. If you can dream it up, the paraplanner can help you focus on your clients or do something else you want to do.
